This 1/350 scale kit of The Graf Spee is quite possibly the most detailed model kit I've ever purchased. I started modeling at 9. I quit about age 18. I'm 57 and retired now and took up modeling again. After being deeply diappointed by a Revell kit, I went hunting for something more challenging. Academy's "Admiral Graf Spee" comes nicely packaged. All of the parts are on the sprue in sealed bags. The instructions come in multiple languages and are easy to understand. Paint list and indicators are easy to find. This kit comes in 2 forms full ship with a waterline option. The moldings are beautiful with little or no flash. Depending on your skill level and how much work you want to put into this kit plan at the minimum of 60 hours of build time. A wonderfully challenging kit for skill levels high novice to master modeler.Read full review

Typical kit of its type. They all have hull to deck fit and other similar problems as the molds wear. I have never seen one that didn't have excess flashing, poorly extruded parts where they are connected to the sprues. That being said with a little bit of patience and effort you can assemble a nice looking model. In this scale any lack of intricate detail isn't a problem as most of the models wont be examined that closely, the original vessels are either on the bottom of the ocean or have had so many modifications and repairs over the years that no one really knows what they looked like anyway.
