You can never let large files slow you down with the Seagate Cheetah 15K.6 internal hard drive. It features a blazing fast spindle speed of 15000 RPM and a cache size of 16MB. This can amount to extremely fast save times even when working with large files or multiple files at once. With a speed this high, the drive can be very responsive and can allow the user to open applications with minimal lag. Its 450GB storage capacity means that it can hold up to 8,000 hours of music, 300 hours of video footage, or 80,000 high definition photos. It can be compatible with nearly any home computer that uses SAS interface controllers. Despite its large storage size, the device itself is contained in a small 3.5 inch form factor.Cheetah 15K hard drive units can support file systems that retain all sorts of multimedia metadata. This model lets users set the names of songs, artists, and albums right to the music file descriptors. Seagate made sure that users could format the SAS version of the Cheetah hard drive for use with NTFS software. This standard can let anyone use this internal HDD with Windows video and music apps without losing any of this precious metadata. You can even open the properties sheet of files stored on Cheetah 15K drives and edit music or video descriptors without any special programs. These features are optimized for use with video for Windows technology loaded from these drives. Hobbyists can use any video card from any manufacturer they'd like in order to load AVI or MP4 files off these drives over an SAS interface. It can even work with proprietary Dell technology.Since each ST3450856SS device can connect to any SAS card, you could use it with Supermicro or Dell PowerEdge server trays. If you have an IBM server that supports hot swap connections, then you can swap out your ST3450856SS hard disk when it's unmounted. All Cheetah drives respond to the same unmount commands used by ST3146356SS accessories. This can make it easy to work with a Cheetah drive from an IBM AS/400 interface. This can allow enterprise users to search through a large number of files without any issue. Some administrators might even want to consolidate several drives onto just one of these. You can create a partition of 300GB or larger on this hard drive to provide space for files from older drives.
