1. the most over-complicated tester of all. 2. poor quality components used, many drifted over the years 3. PCB brittle and prone to cracking 4. pitting of steel surface, screen printed controls rub off very easily 5. difficult to calibrate 6. does not show true mutual conductance 7. no choice of testing point (bias is auto-adjusted until anode current reaches one of 3 set levels, all very low) 8. low test voltage 9. just a quick tube checker, very far from laboratory standard 10. way overvalued on 2nd hand market

needs to have been printed on both sides of the paper. It is unnecessarily thick. It is really nothing more than a photo copy of the original small book, with each page taking an entire page. It would be far more useful if copied on both sides and size reduced. It does cover 4000 tubes, BUT the majority of the extra 1000 are useless data. Get the 3000 tube original, it is more useful. Not poorly done, just not useful enough or well done enough to warrant the price.

I first hesitated due to the other reviews, but now that I have it in my hands I can't see a flaw. This is a high quality copy of an old service manual! That means all pages have been properly aligned, the contrast has been adjusted for best posible readability and the graphs and schematics are very crisp. This is at least as good or even better than having a skewed original.

I see some negative reviews here about reliability. I have never had an issue with mine, it's accurate and reliable. I have compared test results with a TV7 DU and they were very similar. The build quality is not going to be up to sealed military spec standards, but if well maintained, it's a great tester for the money.
