Super easy to set up and immediately solved the problem of a poor wifi signal in the far back room. I use it for my iPad, iPhone, Xbox, Mac Mini, HP wireless printer, AppleTV, and Amazon Firestick. No more slow downs or buffering on Netflix, Youtube, or Amazon Prime Video. The set up was so easy I had all these devices connected to it in less than 15 minutes and running at much improved speeds. Great Value as well for such a simple easy solution.

I bought this wifi extender because the range of my comcast modem router wasnt enough. The SSID can be easily found now at the part of the house that wasnt covered (with the comcast), but the speed is very low (1Mbps, where the rest of the house is 15-20 depending of the time of day). So that didnt work and I bought a new netgear wifi router. Also netgear - and works great (due to the additional 5G band the apple producs all use this).

Signal quality is good when trying to take care of an area in your home wifi that is weak. I needed to take care of an outdoor camera and the frames per second improved drastically when I put this device close to it inside the house even. This device is so automatic that it connects easily via wps buttons - first with the router and then whatever device you want to add that has wps. I comes up with ssid_ext where ssid is the name of your home (or business) wifi and the _ext suffix is added to distinguish it from your router. You need to identify the device's ip address on your network. You can find the address by logging on your router or using an ip address program. Once you have that, you can log onto the device and make changes like password for security, etc. The device's built in browser is excellent and very easy to use. Instructions are very good. I am impressed! I need to add another suggestion. Use fastlane technology where you connect to your router @ 5ghz. That speeds things up considerably!!Read full review

My father just put up a 30 x 32 foot Barn with a 14 x 18 foot man cave within it. He had it fully insulated and heated an a elevated wood floor. Very nice. He came to me wanting to put his internet into his man cave. In most cases this would not be a problem as you can just run the cat 5 wire and done with the issue. However his building is surrounded with about a 6 foot walk way of concrete which creates a major problem of getting the cat 5 into the building. So hard wiring was out unless we went through a lot of effort to get it in. He did not want overhead wires running in. So wireless seemed to be the best answer. Figuring his computer had wireless capability we figured we would just turn on the wireless feature as the computer was only about 50 feet away from the wireless hub. Well a fully metal building, meaning siding and roof stop that from happening. It blocked every bit of the signal. We did find out that if we had the computer near the window we had a fair signal. Of course the window was up 4 foot to the bottom and who wants their computer sitting up that high and sticking out like a sore thumb. So after some research we found the NETGEAR WN3000RP Universal Range Extender and decided to give it a try. Well the results were it worked better than we had hoped for. We thought that it would be about the same signal as the computer sitting in the window. What we were surprised to see was that the signal was full strength to what we would have had if it were right in the house where his wireless hub is at. We had heard that there would be a little latency in the receive/transmit of the signals, but I have to tell you if there is any, it for the most part is not noticeable. We also heard that getting them to connect might be challenging but we did not find that to be the case at all. Very easy and for me it was the first time of using an extender. I am not a computer expert by far and it was a quick fix for me. I don't exactly know the range on these but with the signal strength that it has inside of the well shielded building it has got to have some distance. So the short side of this is we are very happy with this product and will more than likely be using them in the future for any additional needs.Read full review

I've always liked Netgear and I have had 100% luck with refurbs. But them both together and this makes a superior buy. Worked right out of the box and set up both ways (manual and automatic). I also love the network jack on the bottom for hard wiring. Saved me buying a wireless card for my desktop. I this this is well worth the try if you are looking for a reliable name-brand extender.
