I'm running a lenovo laptop but this generally works great. I'd read some issues with Lenovo's own docks but experienced none of them with this HP model. Though it's not for everyone, I like the "tower" form factor on my desk. Having a semi-built in cord is also go value. Port selection is solid and it handles easily my needs - ethernet, usb ports, usbc-display port monitor. It has an internal fan, but it is reasonably quiet, especially in an office environment. I don't really notice it. The only issues I have with it are the power button only works for HP devices (fair enough) and I wish the Thunderbolt cable came out the back or allowed configuration to keep the desk completely clean. If you can get one of these used for a good price and need a thunderbolt dock, go for it.

It does what it supposed to do, the only thing I would say that is needed is to add a power cord.
