I actually like this unit. It's quick and takes up very little space on the desk, which was important to me. The scans come out very well and I'm able to save them with no problems. Now, this takes a little work. You have to press the button to choose between PDF or Jpeg as well as pressing the button to scan or connect to the usb. When you scan documents the best thing to do is name them quickly because you may forget and you will have to go through the documents to name them. With the desktop scanner I had, I did all this from the dialog box. This scanner does not have this feature. Having said that, it suits me perfectly for what I have to do and works very well. I would recommend it.
This little scanner works great. I loaned mine out and bought a second. The self feeding feature makes it very easy to use. We were able to scan 400+ pictures that were in family albums that are now digitalised.

was a bit confusing at 1st inserting/removing the mini SD card correctly if you have never used a mini SD card before, but the unit assembles and dis-assembles easily and quickly and includes a dummy normal-sized SD card that the mini SD card docks into so u can insert it into the SD slot on your computer for uploading-VERY handy as most Desktop and laptops dont have both SD slot sizes. I think it's best feature is the size and portability. When stored in the cloth case, USB cord and all, it is no bigger than a carton of cigarettes and weighs only a bit more. When in use no cords or elec outlet is needed for use or for uploading to your computer. it will scan photos and documents up to 8 1/2" wide in a choice of 3 resolution settings and stores either in JPG or PDF format and in B&W or color-you choose. the quality of the scans are as good as the photo it scans-if u have a real old, faded photo, u get a scanned real old faded photo, but I noticed no addn'l deterioration. I also like that once the scanner has a charge, it needs no house current to operate and you can even remove the wand and scan remotely-handy for wallpaper samples, etc-anything u can slide the wand over and in any orientation, it will scan. Cons: the LED readout screen is tiny, tiny, tiny-hard to make out the symbols w/o some sort of mag glass....and there is no detailed manual to explain everything, just a quick guideRead full review

I had shoe boxes and totes full of photos from mine and my children's childhoods as well as my parents. Photo albums falling apart and taking up space. I wanted to be able to sit and feed all these photos into a scanner and this one did the trick. I bought a SD card that fits in scanner and started feeding all photos up to 8x10 through. 600 at a time then I hook up computer copy photos to hard drive delete on SD and repeat. 2 days and 3200 memories later I couldn't be happier.

I am very happy with my scanner . It works easily and I like the results. The directions are easy to under stand and the scanning is fast. I have used it both to scan pictures and to scan written items. Both worked great.
