Great monitor. Does everything I want it to do. Least expensive IPS monitor available for this size. Color looked amazing out of the box and consistent along other same model monitors (I bought multiple for Eyefinity setup so I could span my video editing along two monitors, and use third as the video preview window...or I use all three for Eyefinity so I can game on all three or watch movies on all three). I use it for photo editing, gaming, and video editing. Great for all! I have no complaints what-so-ever. Can be viewed at better angles, color is excellent, can be turned landscape or portrait easily if you want to rotate them vertically for better document viewing or to set up three together for one monster screen. Has DV, VGA, and Display Port...so perfect for Eyefinity set up. Also has 4 USB ports! Great for hooking up your keyboard and mouse to so you don't have to stretch them or put your PC in an awkward place...especially if running Eyefinity as with three of these, your PC is most likely going to be 6ft away from your monitors. Base is super solid. The whole design is sleek looking. Very tech, very matrix, very professional. Timeless. Monitor can be swiveled, tilted up and down, and can be raised and lowered in height as well as rotated like I said portrait mode or landscape mode easily. Menu buttons on monitor are easy to use and navigate unlike the majority of other monitors. Very tactile buttons and clear menu. Power save settings are great. Note you have to wait about 15 seconds upon coming out of power save for the monitor to "warm up" and get back to full colors and intensity. Gaming, photo/video editing, HD video watching, office work...it's all a pleasure on this super affordable IPS monitor. For the price, it's the best all around and highest quality monitor you are going to find if you want accurate color representation and still like to game or do other normal stuff outside graphic/photo/video work. People have been worried about ghosting or tracing with the 8ms response time and asking about it. I have noticed none and have played some serious games: Aliens vs Predator, Counter Strike, Metro 2033, Half Life 2, Crysis...you get the idea. No different than my previous monitors with 2ms response times. IPS gives way better color representation and way better viewing angles. This is why lesser monitors usually don't give you portrait mode rotation, as they would look funky when you change the orientation of the monitor. Not this....I can move side to side and the colors and image look the same as looking straight on to the monitor. Turning it portrait mode looks the same: great! Get one...or two...or three if you are like me and want Eyefinity (with a compatible card...I recommend any of the high end AMD ATI Radeon cards with Eyefinity capability). Get yourself a 15 foot DVI cable for the one farthest from CPU, a 10 foot Display Port Cable for the middle one, and then just a regular DVI cable that comes with monitor for the one closest to CPU...then you have no space issues or Eyefinity issues. Might even want to dual card crossfire for better performance if you want to game with three of these on high settings... You won't be disappointed...I picked them up for $275 each...a great deal figuring the same size monitor with lower quality paneling would be around $200 anyways. I think these retail for $319 plus tax and shipping at Dell...worth the price either way in my opinion.Read full review
..unless you're willing to fork out over $1,000 for a top of the line pro-calibrated, perfectly color accurate monitor, this is your baby. Perfect size screen. Very large, in fact, I don't see why you would need to spend the extra on the 24" or 27". The screen can't even be blocked out by two pieces of 8.5 x 11 sheets of printer paper (it is that large and wide). The stand is strong and versatile. You have a number of ports unluding 4 additional USB for added peripherals. Extra sharp, beautiful to look at, thin sleek design, great adjustment controls, and built with precision and care. If you can get this for under $300, don't even hesitate. You won't be disappointed.
I was looking to put up alot of charts for a forex trading course, so I needed one very large monitor or two larger monitors. I examined the price point on the 30" and 27" monitors and they were too high for the extra real estate. I wanted quality, visual detail, and IPS displays deliver. Photographers perfer IPS over TN technology; TN screens is for gamers as the response time can be very fast, while sacrificing color and detail accuracy. I bought two of these and purchased the attachable Dell AS501 SoundBar (available in black or silver). No regrets.
Great product, the difference between this and my old TN panel are evident. Colors look great and although the response time is a bit higher than my old TN, I have absolutely no problems gaming on it (and I am an FPS player). Great construction, feels durable and solid. Easy to navigate and understand control set. Setup was a breeze. Overall I love this monitor and would recommend it in a heartbeat. IPS is the way to go if you love image clarity and color accuracy. HD movies are awesome on this panel.
After 12 years of using a Dell 19" CRT and the glare from the screen, it was finally time upgrade. Wish I could have afforded something bigger, but for the price, I have no complaints on buying this 23". Everything looks so much better. No dead pixels and no glossy bezel are always good.
