This antique 1779 Brit. coin is highly recommended for a grand reason, KING GEORGE III's JOURNAL REVEALED HIS THOUGHTS THIS DATE, "Nothing worthy of note happened today." JULY 4,1776 Depending upon condition, this handsome pierced coin and other BRITISH COINS similar in Date, are worth more to Americans than just the value a pricing book offers in details. King Geo. III's journal entry proves he was out of touch with his distant subjects in the American Colonies. I enjoy talking about this coin and a larger Copper 1779 (called a CARTWHEEL due to its size,) because they are tiny history lessons you can carry with you. This coin happens to already be pierced. I will hang it on a silver chain and happily wear it. Find the dates of King George III's reign, then look for his many silver and copper coins. They are much better than any so-called Challenge Coins. Those will soon be headed for that shoebox on a closet shelf. Good Luck with dated coins worthy of note.Read full review
