This Dell 300 GB hard drive operates an 10,000 RPM to provide fair seek and write speeds that avoid notable system lag. While the Dell MBF2300RC-DELL uses a 2.5-inch form factor normally reserved for use in laptops, its use of an SAS interface allows it to be used in larger computer builds, such as servers to provide enterprise level storage. A 6 GBps transfer rate allows this Dell 300 GB hard drive to pass data between compatible devices relatively quickly to save time. Very reliable and a great value for their cost!
I've had a lot of experience with different drive vendors such as Seagate, Fujitsu, IBM and others. Amongst those, I must commend Toshiba SAS drives used by Dell as the most reliable ones given the very low number of faulty drives over a long period. Toshiba has also shown very good performance and stability with laptop SATA drives and thus generally speaking, their drives are excellent.
