After doing research on the new 2014 Mac Pro aka "The Trashcan" I decided to go with the fully upgraded 2009 model. With just as much memory, cpu power, and hdd space as one that goes for four times as much, there's very little I'm truly missing (Thunderbolt 2). This deal is perfect for anyone like me who is switching from a Windows PC to Mac. The learning curve was a bit steep but this is only due to the fact that I grew up building Windows units without ever being exposed to the other side. But after two weeks I think I'm getting the hang of it. Refurb is definitely the way to go! Never pay full retail unless absolutely necessary! - S. White

Over 10 years old and still a great machine. with a graphics card upgrade and a little more RAM these old boxes can be made into windows 10 or El Capitan power houses. Dual core and dual processor these give you 4 threads of Xeon processing power and make great daily use machines and with 4 internal SATA bays you can put loads of storage in them.

Even after nearly a decade, this Mac has the power and the expandability of a solid design. It can be upgraded with NVMe SSDs, modern GPUs, 2x 6-core CPUS, 128GB of RAM and more. And it's a beauty!

This computer is just magical. It worked beautifully right out of the box and exactly as advertised. My only knock against it is that its graphics card is incompatible with MacOS Mojave, but this is to be expected for a computer from 2009 (!).
