CURRENTLY SOLD OUT
The 1970 UK one penny was a proof only issue limited to 750,000 coins on a bronze blank about the size of a US Kennedy Half Dollar. It is an unusually beautiful coin approaching fine art. None were ever issued for general circulation. This was also the farewell issue of a coin little changed in design for well over 100 years. The United Kingdom (Great Britain) was to transition to a 100 cents (pence) to the pound decimal coinage value the following year. A somewhat rare and beautiful coin.
