This is an incredibly stylish and well made pair of Aesthetic period cast iron firedogs designed by Christopher Dresser. They were either made at the Kenrick or Coalbrookdale workshops. They have a raised registration diamond and impressed shape number 474. They are very stylised in design and crisply cast They are in great condition and measure 23cm tall and 15.5cm wide to the base.
