Here I am very pleased to offer an exceptional example of the highly sought after Addison Model 5 \"Courthouse\" radio. This particular radio features a killer red case with butterscotch trim. The swirly catalin case is almost hypnotizing! The radio was discovered in a Stratford estate no more than a year ago. Shortly after, it received a sympathetic mechanical restoration to make it work properly. Nothing was done to the case, trim, or dial glass to enhance the appearance - it was left original. You will, in fact, see minor dirt in the crevices of the case and trim. It currently lights up and tunes in stations properly. This is by far the nicest original example I have owned. It is difficult to find these radios with all original parts.
It measures 12 1/4 inches by 8 1/2 inches by 7 inches.

Condition
A breathtaking, estate-found example. The case, knobs, and grille bars have not been polished, buffed or professionally cleaned. The mechanics, however, have been serviced including the installation of a new, period-correct cord and plug, a new light bulb, lubrication, etc. It is functioning properly and tuning in stations. The knobs and grille bars are guaranteed original and match in tone. The dial glass is guaranteed original and untouched. The grille cloth is original and correct.
The case is free from any chips, repairs, or significant cracks. There is a very small hairline above the light bulb in the centre of the dial. It is not a crack, but a stress line from the heat of a higher-than-necessary wattage bulb. This is only mentioned for accuracy and in my opinion, does nothing to detract from this piece. Overall, a gorgeous original example that is ready-to-use and enjoy.
