Many of my recent customers expressed their interest incertain parts that they would likely use in their home-build belt sanders.

Here we offer the proven design of our Drive Wheel Assembly.

  • It is builton 1/2\" thick aluminum plate 4\" x 5\" or 4\" x 6\"size. Two 3/4\" self-centeringPillow Block Bearing Units are installed parallel. This assembly can be mounteddirectly (or with the spacerif required) on Belt Sander Frame. The plate has some pre-drilled and conveniently located mountingholes.
  • The 3/4\"diameter shaft is 9\" long, secured in position by locking collars and provide very solid, steady, vibration free support for running wheel at high speed. It has enough length to mount step pulley if desired.
  • The DriveWheel is 4”OD x 2-1/4” wide convex (domed for improved tracking) and precisionmachined from aluminum. Set screw and 3/16\" key installed.
  • The belt pulleyis designed forGeneralPurpose A/4LType V-Belts, (1/2\" belts). The 2\" or 2-1/4\" outer diameter pulley\'sratio will help to achieve proper sanding belt speed.
  • Horizontal or vertical mounting
  • Colors may be different then pictured.
  • Drive wheel will be removed from the shaft and wrapped separately for safe shipping.

Speed calculation: If your 4\" Drive Wheel rotates at 3450 RPMs,then the belt surface speed is 3613 SFPM (surface feet per minute).

This is in most instances the best desired speed in knife making manufacturing.

The unit is highly adaptable and can be useful in numerous otherprojects as well.
