Highly impressive in both size and form this magnificent solid silver box measures a massive nine inches wide and weighs 423gms.

Bearing repousse decoration in the appearance of etrog fruit, \'the most beautiful of all fruits\'(Rabbi Avraham Ibn Ezra) it is clearly evident that an expert silversmith has crafted this piece and from the inner tarnish it has been used, the citrus having reacted to the gilding.

With fine lobed shaped body and void of feet this fine box would also serve beautifully for Shabbat dinner or as a fine collection piece.

In good condition, there is some tarnish to inside and small splits near hinges(see images)
