THIS sale IS FOR A LOVELY LARGE SIZED TRENCH WATCH.
THIS WATCH IS 38mm across not including crown, 42mm with crown
and lug to lug 45mm, much larger than you normally see on these trench watches.
possibly an officers watch or pilots?
dial is good with no cracks or hairlines.
one small nibble below hole of sub-dial but thats about it it.
minute hand is replaced but i am sure an original would be easy to find from a spare watch.
hour hand is original.
lovely conical fluted crown.
hinged back cover opens to reveal a lovely clean and fully working movement ticking away very nicely.
back cover is inscribed D.W.G 1919 probably the soldiers initials, after the war.
but i believe the watch to be of period 1914-1918
watch only needs a strap to still be used.
keeps good time, but not tested down to the seconds +/-
so grab a large trench watch.
