VINTAGE ONEIDA NEWHOUSE # 6 BEAR TRAP to me it is in good shape. it is rusty but nothing that can not be cleaned off. it is OLD! It is 44" long the best I can tell is that it says " oneida newhouse, NY oneida community No 6 on the plate I have not tried to set it or anything but it appears that it would work just fine. I cannot see any other markings or numbers on it anywhere the trap does have pitting due to its age I guess. It also has a tooth broken off. I sold this trap to a guy for 5000 but he pointed out the broken tooth and the pitting was more that orange peel rough. It is a good trap and personally I would be fine with it because it is very old. Other then the tooth being broken it is in good shape. Just has some pitting and rust. The pitting isn't what I would call bad. You can tell that from the photos. I weigh 260 lbs and stood on the springs and they went down but not much. Please look closely at the photos and if you have any questions e-mail me or call . It is very difficult to package and ship and I don't want to go through the return process again.
