Five digit serial number! Early. This beauty comes with the original lens cap, the take up spool, and the very cool and the rare Leica brown solid leather case Leica code word Etrin. The case holds the camera with a rangefinder in the lid and the side slot for two spools. These items not included. And yes, the case is vintage correct for the Leica 1. The camera is in very nice condition for its age. There is some black paint wear on the edges though nothing serious. This only enhances the character of the camera! The nickel lens focus is nice and the lens only has the minimalist of any barrel wear, no brassing. The aperture ring turns fully with only very minimal resistance. Pretty good. The lens is surprisingly clean and looks clear with the bare eye though with a flashlight one can detect some very faint haze. And again, pretty good for its age. With the lens off (have to remove the stop) one can see that the shutter is all intact and I do not see any holes or tears. Looks like just some of the coatings on the curtains has disappeared. I would say the shutter is in very good condition for its age. The shutter speeds also look and sound good though not bench tested. The viewfinder looks clean and clear. The leather is all good and not brittle. No dings nor dents. The perfect collectible Leica for that missing spot in your collection!
