I’moffering for sale the complete camera set that belonged to my grandfather whopassed away many years ago. I’ve beenhanging on to it for a long time, mainly for sentimental reasons, but now it istime to part with it. I believe mygrandfather acquired this camera and accessories new in the late 1950’s andused them through the 1970’s. He was areal amateur photo aficionado who specialized in black & white photographyand really prized this Leica camera, and eventually transitioned into colorphotography.
Being hisprize-possession, my grandfather took very good care of this camera so it is inquite good condition. I believe thecamera is still in working condition, but I don’t know that for sure. I haven’t put film in it and tried to takeand develop a photo. However, the 35mmfilm winding mechanism still turns and sets the trigger. When I press the trigger, I can hear theclicking sound as if a photo is being taken.
Based oninformation I could find on the Internet, one being serial number ranges, Ibelieve this this camera is a Leica (made in Germany), model IIf, circa.1956. However, I’m no expert on vintagecameras. One website I found showedLeica cameras in the serial number range of 821500 – 822000 were made in1956. If anyone knows these cameras well, let me know if this information is incorrect.
