Description A beautiful genuineEnglishantiqueEdwardiansolid sterling silver stamp box/trough, in lovely conditionand with a full set of English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1906.Excellentquality112 year old sterling silver box, (definitely not a modern re-production); attractive novelty trough shape and a rarer single compartment example. It has a spring-loaded hinged silver lid and it rests on 4 silver ball feet. There is a stamp window in the lid which contains an unused antique stamp, encased behind glass. Inside the box it is fully gilded and it still has the original black leatherette lining under the lid.There are no added personal engraved inscriptions or monograms, nothing erased.
MeasurementsMeasures approx. 1.4inches (34mm)x 1.3 inches (32mm) and is 1.05 inches (26mm) deep.

ConditionLovelycondition, and ready for use. No solder repairs, definitely no wear holes andnonasty knocks or dents, just 1 little tight corner seam split, really nothing much at all and a very nice example. The sprung silver lid hinge works perfectly and opens and closes tightly and securely and the spring is still nice and strong, (rare to find). The interior gilding is virtually all still intact and there are no repairs to the silver ball feet. The protective glass front on the lid is undamaged and the interior stamp is genuine. There are no added personal engraved inscriptions or monograms.
