KEIKO

Its been six months since I made a bear so I am pleased to introduce KEIKO my newest design. He\'s an original design by me, Judi Paul of Luxembears, and is the first of this new realistic design. Keiko is a very posable bear so I have a lot of photos listed here to show the many ways he can be posed.

Here is a list of his many features:

-Original design by Judi Paul.

-He measures 15\" from his nose to his bum, and 9\" from shoulder to floor when standing on all fours.

-Hand made from hand dyed German mohair in a darkchocolate brown.

-Jointed at the hips andshudders withhardboard discs.

-All four limbs and neck have loc-line forflexibility has my signature felted muzzle andpawpaws. Many many hours go into myfelting to achieve a solid firm finish.

-His nose is felted into his muzzle then shaded and sealed.

-Hand shaded and airbrushed layers of soft color to his facialfeatures and paw pads.

-Keiko sees the world thru German glass eyes that I hand painted in shimmering gold and brown. And he has upper and lower eyelids.

-All four paw pads have deeply implanted claws (20 total) which I sculpted from a strong epoxy-based compound.

-And Icannotforget to mention his cute nubby tail.

I named this new design after my favorite Killer Whale/Orca \"Keiko\", who starred in the 1983 movie Free Willy. Keiko was captured from the ocean at only 4 years of age. He was stolen away from his mother and pod. Orcas share STRONG family bonds and male orcas swim bytheir mothers side for life. After starring in this movie it was discovered that he still lived in a cement prison in a marine park. Money was raised worldwide torehabilitate him in an icelandic sea pen where e was eventually returned to thewild.

It iswrong on many levels to keep orcas and dolphins in captivity. They are very complexsensitive highlyevolved beings that belongin the sea. Watch Blackfish and learn the dark truth about SeaWorld and captivity.

\"No tank in a marine park no matter how bigcannot even begin to duplicate the conditions of the sea, and any dolphin [orca] in these parks can never be considered normal.\" -Jacque Yves Cousteau.
