Up for sale is an 1816 Bayonet and Leather scabbard that came on an 1816 69 caliber Harpers ferryConfederate Conversion musket Dated 1827 that was altered by the Columbus MemphisBriarfieldArsenal forTennesseeTroops. I sold the Musket yesterday at a Local gun show. They did not buy the Bayonet and scabbard even though I told them the Musket came from a Kentucky family with the bayonet with it and the bayonet was a perfect fit and patina with the musket. One can only guess it was used on it and it had been with it since the war. The Scabbard is in good shape except thestitchingon the throat is loose down one side as shown in the pictures. The center stitching is strong and the leather ispliable. Overall a nice rig for your 1816 musket.Guaranteedto fit but you can see that by the socket position and condition which is perfectly round and total length of the bayonet is 19 inches.

There are no markings whatsoever on this Bayonet. I have seen a few Confederate arsenal 1816 altered flintlock muskets that had bayonets without markings on the bayonets. I think this was not an uncommon thing to encounter on these.
