This is the Big Loo made by the Marx Company in 1963, very few of these remain and to have it with the original box is very special. First while this is a nice example it does have some flaws.
Beginning with the box while in nice original condition and with all its flaps still attached one of the flaps is torn down the middle on the top of the box, the other flaps have some very small tears on the edges from being opened but are in good condition, the bottom flaps have never had the staples removed and have never been opened. The box does have some random writing on it (prices) the prices are written in pencil. The box does have some creases with one side having a crease down the center causing the box to bow out a bit and general wear from having items stacked on top of it causing some random marks, scuffs, etc. There are also some light water marks around it. Nice condition but far from mint.
The toy is also in very nice condition as well but does have some flaws. We tested all the functions that we had the ability to test. For example we have one rocket with the toy and it does fire like it should from the foot rocket launcher. When you turn the handle clockwise Big Loo does speak and says “Take me for a walk” turning the handle in the other direction make a clicking noise, for morse code. The grabbing arm works like it should. He bends at the waist very easily and the head spins around. The battery compartment is clean, off and on switch works and the eyes both light up and blink on and off randomly. Flaws the toy has include a small crack in his arm at the shoulder area (please see photo). A hairline crack on the tip of one foot. A hairline crack on the back of the base. We looked closely and this appears to be the only cracks but there may be a hairline one we have missed we tried out best to find any and all. Cosmetically Big Loo also has some paint wear and general wear that comes from being played with like random scuffs some scratches on raised edges and just some general marks where it has been bumped around. Overall this is a very nice example and one of the nicer ones we have had over the years any Marx collector knows that these are great pieces because of their size being several feet tall.
