This is a wonderful halloween tin toy made by Marx in the 60\'s. The Hootin Hollow Halloween Haunted House is in excellent cosmetic condition with colorful and vivid lithograph and add-on details. There is a very small indentation on one corner of the base and no rust anywhere except for minor rust on the inside of the battery cover. The battery chamber is clean.
The interior appears to be dusty but without rust. All functions except the Window Shade and Front Door are in working condition. Spooky Sound and Whistling Wind do not sound great by todays standards but they did work when I installed batteries. I did not remove the base cover to attempt repairs or clean the interior. I believe the sounds and other functions would be improved with a good cleaning and lubrication. For this sale, it remains original. Two parts are missing, the Dog and Dracula.
