Mills Dial QT Slot Machine - No reserve -
Price: US $3200.25
ATTENTION: You are offerding on your choice of ONE of these Mills Dials. Not both of them. The winner of the sale will have his/her choice of either the penny (red) ornickel (blue) machine.
First all the crap I need to put in so won't kill the listing;
"Due to laws regulating the sale of antique slot machines, I, as the seller, will not sell to members in the states of Alabama, Connecticut, Hawaii, Indiana, Nebraska, South Carolina, and Tennessee. offers from members residing in any of these states will be canceled. Buy It Now transactions with buyers residing in these states will be considered void."
I have recently learned that Indiana is no longer a prohibited state. I don't know if has updated their rules or not so I did not change them. If you are from Indiana and offer and cancels the offer then send me a note.
I will only ship to the continental US.
The person listing this machine is a member of the Coin Op Preservation Society (COPS). The badge shown below is proof that they are in good standing with the society. To maintain in good standing, members must agree to follow a strict code of standards and ethics when it comes to selling antique slot machines and coin operated devices. For more information about the Coin Op Preservation Society and to find out the ids of people who are members just google "Coin Op Preservation Society". COPS was formed because, among other things, refuses to enforce their own rules about reproduction and misrepresented machines being sold on their site. There are reputable coin op dealers who sell on and are not members of COPS.This machine is being sold with and a starting offer of $1.00. Why so cheap? People know me in the Coin Op community and they know the quality of my machines. The machine will bring a fair price. If not, oh well, that is the way it goes.
Be sure and check my response. I just sold a $.10 Rol-A-Top and a restored nickel Castle Front. Each with and starting price was $1.00 also offer a money back guarantee. If you get the machine and are not happy just return it to me in the same condition that it is in now and I will return all your money except shipping. Look at all the other folks selling antique slots machines on and see how many have a returnpolicy like this. To date, not a single person has ever returned a machine to me.
This is only a 7 day sale be sure and add it to your watch list if you are not prepared to put a offer on it at this point in time.
I ship machines double boxed via FedEx. I prefer to ship machines on Monday or Tuesdays so they don't sit in a shipping warehouse over the weekend.
Ifyou can pick the machine up then there will be noshipping charges.
The reason I am selling one of these is that these machines really don't go with what I am collecting these days. I am concentrating on older machines. I am on the fence whether I want to sell both or not. That is why I am allowing the winning buyer to have his/her choice of the two machines.
I know I could haul these machines to the Chicagoland show and probably get more for them than what I can get on . However, going to the show is expensive and time consuming for me.
If you are a dealer then this is your opportunity to pick up a good machine at a potentially bargain basement price and do very well at the fall Chicagoland show.
If you are a collector then this is your opportunity to get a hard to find machine at a really good price. You know how hard it is to find these. Especially in the penny denomination.
For example, this Dial was in a booth at the Chicagoland show last year. The above machine is NOT one of the machines you are offerding on. It was one in a dealers booth at the Chicagoloand show. This machine is just being shown to give you an idea of what they are listed for at shows. If you want to research what these (and other) machines have actually sold for then google "Antique Slot Machine Price Guide". There is a site which tracks actual sales prices.
I am not a QT expert so here is that I know about these two machines.
1. I am not sure if they are painted the factory original colors or not. I did not do the restoration.2. Both machines do have the front locks on the castings and the locks on the back doors. However, the locks are replacements. I am pretty sure the back doors are original.3. Neither machine has a cash box.4. Both machines operate properly. The dial advances on a winner and decrements properly as you play it.5. The coin lockout mechanism when there are credits on the dial works correctly on both machines.6. The dial reset knob on the back works correctly.7. Both machines have the little meter on them to count the number of credits that have been cashed out.8. The reel strips and awards cards look original to me.
If you are just starting out collecting then do your research before you offer on anything. The Mills Dial is a "QT" style machine. Technically, it is a trade stimulator, because it does not pay out coins when you win. It is a pretty desirable machine though and one that you do not see very often.
Google, CoinOpCollectorForum and go to that site. There are lots of very experienced collectors and dealers willing to help you out.
Finally, if you have any questions at all do not hesitate to ask.
And again, the winning buyer will have his/her choice of ONE of these machines, not both.
