Up for offerding is a 5ยข token from the Centennial Beer Hall of Butte, Montana, issued circa late 1890s. Description: The token measures about 24mm and is made from aluminum. It is unlisted in Rubick. Note the reverse die (used 1895-99).The Centennial Brewery was founded in Butte in 1876, the United States\' centennial year. In 1888 the Centennial Brewing Company was incorporated. The \"Centennial Beer Hall\" was an outlet downtown for the brewery, located at 101 S Main. The May 12, 1899 Butte Daily Post notes that attorneys for the Centennial Brewing Company were suing Peter Radovich (note spelling) for goods delivered. He apparently got out of the saloon business after that: Later directories show Peter Radovich still in town, working as a gold miner and laborer.Condition: Some wear, original patina.
