DESCRIPTION:
ITEM: MURRLE BENNETT & Co. British ARTS & CRAFTS 950 Silver BLUE GREEN ENAMEL Organic Leaf PIN
APPROXIMATE AGE: Early 20th Century
APPROXIMATE SIZE: The pin measures approximately 1\" in diameter.
ANTIQUE CONDITION: The pin presents very well and possesses many of the design qualities most sought after in pieces by Murrle Bennett. There are a few condition notes that should be mentioned. The enamel is almost entirely intact but there is a small area on the left side(9 o\'clock) that shows some surface enamel loss. The enamel in this small area is darker due to what appears to be the introduction of a small amount of red color enamel. The pin has been previously owned and worn. It displays some noted surface wear to the silver elements that is consistent with the pins age and its use over the years. The pin back assembly has been restored at some point. The modified \"C\" style pin back clasp is not original to the pin. The pin back assembly\'s clutch is original but the pin stem may not be. All in all, its overall antique condition would be considered very good.
WEIGHT: The pin has an approximate gram weight of 6.45 grams
MARKS: The pin is signed with the Murrle Bennett & Co. mark. The back of the pin is also marked \"950\"(see close up photograph).
