JOANIES AMAZING 4-DAY CHINESE ESTATE sale
Hi, thank you for having a look at my sales.Listed this week is our largest and most important Chinese art estate sale we have ever held. The items currently listed in this four-day sale are choice examples we have been saving from Important estate collections over the past year. This sale includes session one: important and fine jade and stone carvings sale, session two: fine Qing porcelains, session three: Rare Song and Ming dynasty ceramics, and the last session four: featuring a variety of Chinese art including examples from noted and highly sought after Chinese artists. This sale includes many exceptionally rare documented examples including some with Imperial provenance. We will most likely not host another sale with this volume of exceptional and rarely seen examples for many years to come.

Up for sale is an Extremely Fine and Important 18th Century Chinese Qianlong Imperial Carved White Jade Ram Figural Carving. This is a truly astonishing and in my opinion a highly important example. The carved details are truly superb with Imperial carved qualities throughout. This piece is carved of a beautiful and vibrant hu of natural white jade. The carving has some light natural inclusions commonly found on examples of the period. The carving could us a light cleaning but we never touch anything like this. The carving is in very fine original condition with no damage. The carving is an incredible display piece measuring 3 3/8 inches long, by 3 1/8 inches wide, and sits 2 inches tall by itself, and 3 1/8 inches tall including the stand. This carving is a fresh to market example directly from a private estate collection and has been in the same families estate collection for upwards of 80 years. I am told this piece was acquired around the 1920’s in Hong Kong and was said to be looted from the forofferden city imperial palace chambers. The carving is from the same collection as the documented Imperial palace spinach jade box also listed.
If I personally owned this example I would be surely taking it to a high end venue sale where I believe it would achieve well into the tens of thousands of possibly even higher on a good day. There are a good number of comparable ram groups that have sold many achieving into the hundreds of thousands, and this is finer than most I have seen. As the estate lawyers have ordered this collection is to be sold to the highest buyer with Absolutely . A Truly Astonishing Museum Quality example.
