OLD 1968 SUNOCO GASOLINE SIGN METAL STUDEBAKER PONTIAC BUICK CHEVY II AM MOTORS
Price: US $89.00
The name, Sun Oil Company started around 1890 in Ohio and Pennsylvania. The company grew, changed its name to the Sun Company, and soon back to Sun Oil when they acquired more rights in other states. During WWII, Sunoco was the 39th largest corporation selling product for the war effort.
This item is a metal sign stating \"Sunoco Custom-Blended Gasolines\". As you may remember, Sunoco pumps had several selections for octane levels. Different autos ran better on different octanes. Some cars required the lower octanes, and the more powerful, more octanes.
On the sign are several of the day\'s models from 1964-1969, when the sign was made. Some of the models listed are not made anymore, such as American Motors, Studebaker, Pontiac, Chevy II, Plymouth, Valiant, Falcon, etc.
It\'s a very interesting sign to read. It would hang on the gas pump to inform the consumer of which grade to purchase at the pump. The sign measures 10\" wide and 18 1/2\" tall.
The sign is nice and bright with perfect graphics. There is a bit of patina, but absolutely no rust on this nice old metal sign.
Shipping for this sign will be only $9.00 anywhere in the U.S. for 2-3 day Priority mail.
