Cabinet: Thecube designed American Walnut cabinet isabsolutely stunning. Beautiful wood grain flows throughout the entireset.An eye catching slanted graingraces the top and front sides.The waterfall top, coupled with the intricate cut grill, reminds you of the ArtDeco styling so popular from that era. It all comes together magnificently whenpowered up and the big black dial comes to life with a bright glow. What aspectacular sight,especially in a dimlit room. Jet black trim andbase feet finish the set off perfectly. You'll be the envy of all with thishighly collectible Zenith proudly displayed in any room of your home or office.
Dial &Knobs:Just look at Zenith's famous black dial displaying allthe AM and shortwave frequencies. Nothing compares. And this is as good as it gets. It features the shortwave scale on top and the AM broadcast scale on the bottom. Numerous foreigncountry and city names are listed for shortwave reference. All numbers andletters are legible and show no signs of wear. Two new dial lamps illuminatethe dial nice and bright with an awesome glow. The dial glass is clear and freefrom any chips, breaks or cracks. The airplane style 'Z' pointer is perfect andturns nicely around the dial. The two original and one new Z knobs are ingreat shape and control on/off & volume, tuning and band switch/high & low tone. Please note that best sound quality is when in the high tone setting.
Grill Cloth: The 1930’s style grill cloth is a finereproduction featuringaclassic black and gold color withawave / swirldesign. This grill cloth can also be purchased separately onour other sales.
Chassis: All tubes in the5 tube chassis were tested withany weak tubes being replaced. All caps, filters, and resistors were checkedand replaced as needed. All brittle or bare wiring was replaced and a newspeaker installed. The chassis has been cleaned, lubed, and re-aligned foroptimal performance.Using the included copper line antenna the radio performsvery well. I'm able to pick upmany stations, near and far,across boththe AM broadcast and shortwavebands. The set provides good tone and plenty of volume. This set was designed to operate on standard 110 V electricity or 6 V battery. The battery function has not been tested and should only be operated with standard electric power only.
The Cabinet’s Finish and Restoration Process: Our Radio cabinetsundergo a vigorous restoration process. Our goal is to maintain the naturalbeauty of the wood and grain, while providing a deep luster and shine. Weachieve this by removing all the old and worn lacquers and stains. We then sandthe cabinet with fine grit pads down to the original bare wood. Nicks, chips, andblemishes are filled and/or blended. Any loose veneer is re-secured. We makesure any filler applied or repairs made are blended nicely and do not detractfrom the beauty of the set unless otherwise noted. New stains and sealers areapplied by hand. We continue by using many coats of Mohawk brand lacquers andtoners applied in the same manner as when the radio was originally finished inthe factory. We use a nitrocellulose piano lacquer which is applied through aprofessional HVLP turbine spray system in a climate controlled room.Nitrocellulose lacquer is very thin. We also apply very thin coats. This allowsthe lacquer to seep into the grain and not cover it up. A fine grit wet sandingfollows every third coat along with a polishing process and ending with an Ozglaze rub. During the restoration process on this radio a small veneer repair was made to the back right edge of the cabinet. It has been blended and does not detract from the beauty of the set. Many hours of work are put into the radios, but as you can see, thefinal outcome is a beautiful, natural looking cabinet with gorgeous luster&shine. Our radios are a great piece of history that come to you ready toproudly display, as well as listen to, in any room of the home or office.

My radios are expertly packed using oversized boxes, manylayers of bubble wrap, and several inches of packing material surrounding eachside of the radio so you can be assured they arrive safely. USPS economy is mydefault shipping method to save on shipping charges. USPS Priority or UPS canbe requested at a higher rate.
Policies / Warranty: We offer a 14 day money backguarantee (buyer pays return shipping with professional packing) if the radiohas been grossly misrepresented. Our radios are accurately described and inworking order when shipped out. In rare instances however, as with any vintageelectronics, minor problems can occur during shipment due to the age anddelicacy of antique radio parts. If your radio arrives and does not work pleaselet us know. We will gladly walk you through the process of troubleshooting toget it started. If that fails to correct the problem we will pay for returnshipping to us, diagnose and fix the problem, and return the radio to you. Wealso offer a 30 day warranty on all the tubes,capacitors, resistors, and filters. Due to the design of some antique radioparts we cannot warranty transformers, coils, tuners, and speakers. However, ifat any time these parts would happen to fail, we will assist in repairing orreplacing the defective part at minimal cost. Finally, in very rareinstances, if there is shippingdamagea USPS insurance claim request must be made tome from the buyer immediately upon receipt of the radio. A USPS inspection ofthe radio, boxes, and all packing materials is required. The refund will beissued upon USPS approval and payment of the insurance claim.
