This is a very hard to fine original Jacobsen four cycle double push rod/rocker arm air cooled gas engine. It was original used on the putting green mower they produced for golf courses. The engine turns over nicely and has some compression but I think there may be a little dirt under a valve. The original gas tank and air cleaner is still on the engine which is quite a rarity. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of. ALL of the cooling fins are in great shape which is VERY unusual. This engine was Jacobsen\'s answer to the popular FH and FI models that were being made by Briggs and Stratton at the time. From the information that I\'ve been given around 1700 of these engines were produced and their mortality rate was quite high! It is missing the shroud as can be seen but these turn up occasionally and are usually marketed as a Briggs shroud. Included in the sale is the ORIGINAL Jacobsen Putting Green Mower serial tag from the mower that this engine came off of. These serial tags are even more scarce than the engine! This engine should be a pretty straightforward project and would be a great and rare addition to your air cooled engine collection or display!
