Very loved early American or possibly English character teddy bear. Circa 1915.This large American or possibly English character bear was made circa 1915
He has been loved as you can see from the photos but he still has bundles of charm and
character and he is essentially a sturdy bear. Standing at 26" tall and completely
wood wool stuffed, he is five ways jointed with all his joints a little loose and although
he is a little schlumpy, he can still support himself in the sitting position
although he prefers to have something to lean against. His short gold mohair is mostly worn away and he is balding all over, retaining 10% overall
coverage and his pads were all recovered a long time ago and have some holes in the new
pads. There are also some small holes in his backing fabric but the are not leaking any
stuffing and he is essentially sturdy as long as he is not handled too roughly. His glass eyes
are original and he has the remains of his horizontal nose and mouth stitching. He also has
a large and clunky tilt growler in his chest which is no longer working.He is a charming character bear that would look good in any hug. Please view all the
