OLD VINTAGE HAND FORGED BOWIE FIGHTING KNIFE REAL STAG HANDLE + DROP-IN SCABBARD...A nice heavy and solid knife. Blacksmith made. Measures 13.5\" OAL. The carbon steel blade is approx 9\", has a nice sweeping, swedged look w/ a substantial ricasso. The mounts are steel. Full rat tail tang, peened at the pommel. Note fighting type partial \"S\" curve, full guard and a ferrule. The stag handle is absolutely handsome. It has various scars and use marks, no remarkable cracks. It Is tight and secure. This knife has what appears to be a full blade. It has a decent edge which could benefit from a proper sharpening if someone envisions using it. The knife has been cleaned in the past. Note pitting scars, forge marks, some areas w/ surface rust. The pommel cap has some abrasions. The sheath is not original to the knife, has wear, needs a cleaning, and is missing some stitches near the tip. It hold the knife quite nicely.
