1959 BLOND #1 PONYTAIL BARBIE
With RARE Enchanted Evening Sample Outfit and Box[Non-Paying Winning buyers Will Be Reported]Up for sale is an absolutely STUNNING blond #1 Ponytail Barbie wearing a rare variation of Enchanted Evening; this sample gown is ivory, not pink. And the stole has ivory lining. They are both tagged Barbie R. The TM box is marked SAMPLE. The pearl necklace does not come off, you would have to open a ring to get it off as there is no clasp. The gown has some flaws; it has some spots and one area in the back that appears to have been repaired, but it\'s not very noticeable. The only touch-up she has had is a color wash to her lips and nose dots. Below is a \"before\" picture. She did not need much; she still has a ton of blush. Her finger and toenail polish are all original and are almost 100% complete. Her hair is up in a bun. Don\'t know the story; it appears to be sewn into shape. I added a little spray to hold the fly-aways. Her hair suits her outfit perfectly. Her body is in excellent condition and has faded to a very pale color, and has faded evenly. She is on one of the earliest #1 bodies with \"Japan\" written in a small box on the bottom of her foot instead of across the bottom the bottom of her foot. She holds all positions well and has both tubes in her feet; one protrudes out which makes it difficult to get that shoe on. She does not have any missing digits, neck splits, green ear or smells. The odd thing is that she has a #2 stand. You can see where the pins would have gone for a #1 stand. She also does not have #1 shoes. This is probably because the dress is so tight along her legs that she would not be able to fit onto a two-pronged stand; her legs would not open far enough with the dress on.
The box is marked \"Sample\" on both ends and has holes where the string would have held her in place. The string and tape are long gone. The graphics on the box are bright and it is nice and sturdy, no splits.I have written a short guide to help people identify which Ponytail Barbie they have, you can see it at:
