ORIGINAL Wurlitzer 1015 Jukebox UNRESTORED 40s vintage bubbler
Price: US $4750.00

This is a 10 day sale.  I do not have a buy it now price.  The high buyer at the end of the sale will own this jukebox!

This is a very nice un-restored Wurlitzer 1015.  The cabinet has all original veneer and wood finish and all of the nickel plating is original!

The previous owner installed a new set of plastics, color cylinders and bubble tubes.  I can see that a handfull of screws were replaced that hold the plastics in place.  Also a \"cobra\" style lightweight phono cartridge kit was installed, but otherwise all parts look to be original to the machine.  Also, I found the original horseshoe cartridge in the coin box, and I\'ll include it with the jukebox in case you want to use the original cartridge.  As far as I can tell all of the wiring is original including the wiring for the lights.

What works:  The jukebox lights up, both color cylinder motors work.  The bubble tubes are all perfect and look like new, but one of the heaters doesn\'t work.  I removed the tube just to make sure it wasn\'t bad and it bubbles just fine when I hold the bottom of the tube in the palms of my hands, so its\'s just a bad heater resistor.  The amp has sound but hums and will need to be re-capped and serviced.  There is sound coming from the cartridge though, so nothing major.  The speaker is perfect with a mint original curved cone.  The motor runs fine and turntable turns but it won\'t select and the platter doesn\'t want to go down on its own.  The mech looks to be in excellent shape, I inspected it with a flashlight and didn\'t see any damage or issues anywhere, so hopefully it will just need basic cleaning and service.

What\'s missing:  All of the record trays are missing.  I don\'t have any of the keys but all of the original locks are complete and unmolested.  Several of the small mirrors on the side mirror strips are missing.

The cabinet:  As stated earlier, this cabinet has all original finish and veneer.  The wood on the front door is very solid and there is no lifting veneer on the front door.  Also the finish on the entire door, including the lower pilaster bases, is solid and in excellent shape.  There are some dark spots in the finish, mostly on the right bottom side.

The top of the cabinet and the upper side areas are solid with tight veneer.  There is one small chip above one mirror strip which I\'ve pictured.  The finish is very solid but the curved sections have some dark spots which look dull compared to the rest of the finish.

The bottom of the cabinet on the two sides and the back shows quite a bit of veneer de-lamination.  BOTH layers of veneer are very loose in some areas along the bottom.  The side veneers are flat but there is some buckling on the veneer on the back side of the cabinet at the bottom.  There is a sliver of missing veneer at the bottom back edge of both side which I\'ve clearly pictured and a couple of small bits missing on the back of the cabinet at the bottom.

The plating:  The nickel plating is original throughout and does not appear to have been cleaned or polished.  It is in excellent original condition with the exception of the front cover of the popularity meter which has quite a bit of plating loss for some reason.

Other minor problems:  The grill cloth shows some wear which you can clearly see in the photos.  The large curved phenolic light shield (the one that\'s inside above the front window) has a 4\'\' or so stress crack.  The red coin return button is chipped (shown in photo).  One of the rows of red selector buttons is a bit faded and looks pinkish (shown in photo),  On the inside of the push button selector units there are some very warped plastic dust covers that need to be removed and some of these dust covers are missing.  I think that most people just take them off and don\'t bother to replace them.   The lighted plastic panel that reads \"Wurlitzer\" above the grill is just sitting in the casting.  Originally it was mounted with small clips that fit over small metal studs.  It looks like most of the clips are inside of the coin box.  One of the  mounting studs on the metal casting is broken but it\'s not something that you\'ll ever notice.  Personally I\'d just leave the plastic loose.  It actually is very stable without the clips as long as you don\'t push on it.  It will save someone 50-60 years from now the hassle of removing the little metal clips and damaging the mounting studs when the plastic needs to be replaced by the next generation of jukebox enthusiasts.

I think that pretty much covers it.  If you have any questions just ask.  I prefer not to ship this item but I\'ll crate it for $250.00 if you arrange for shipping and pick-up and pay all transport costs in addition to $250.00 for crating.

If you live in the continental USA and want to use U-Ship or North American Vanlines etc to have the jukebox picked up without crating it, I\'ll work with you and can wrap it in cardboard, blankets and stretch wrap for the cost of the materials.

Local pick-up is fine or I\'ll deliver to Chicagoland in April for free!  I can hold until the next show as well if you can\'t make it in April.  I will hold for 12 months for pick-up but no longer than that.  Payment is due within 10 days regardless.

Also, I will take vintage theater audio equipment in trade!  I am always looking for old tube type theater amplifiers, speakers, horns, cabinets and other components.  If you have something, let me know.

Tomorrow night (Monday) I\'ll be listing several nice wallboxes and a couple of steppers at as well!.
