This is aLovely Old Chatelaine Powder Compact/Pill Box / Pendant From Around The Early 1900\'s..... The Art Nouveau Period

A Chatelaine Was a Belt Often Quite Ornate Worn By The Lady of The House or The Maid/Housekeeper On Which Ladies Items Etc Were Attached..This Would Most Probably Have Been Hung On One or it Could Be Worn Round The Neck.

This Lovely Item isMade From a Silver Coloured Metal Most Probably a Quality Plate But Not Solid Silver in a StylishRound Slightly Domed ShapewithEmbossed Detailing of a Flowers, Leaves, Swags Etc ......See Photographs

On The Back it Has a Similar Embossed Pattern & Detailing.....See Photographs

It Has a Hinge at the Top & it Opens with a Catch at The Bottom to Reveal a Cavity For Powder or Pills Etc ....See Photographs

It Has a Loop at TheTop That Would HaveAttached it to the Chatelaine or it Can Now Be Attached To a Chain & Worn Round The Neck if Required.
