Thisis a gorgeous and ornately decorated little Nippon china salt dip or individualnut dish. It has a round six sectionmelon rib bowl sitting on three tiny feet.It is elaborately and skillfully hand-painted and decorated with acolorful abstract floral motif around the inside rim. The florals appear to me to be pink &blue roses with accompanying greenery. Itis also decorated with lavish and ornate gold trim & beading around the rimand the pattern. There three feet arealso gold decorated.

I am gradually selling my saltcellar and individual nut dish collection that at one time was over 1,800pieces. These had been in my collectionsince 1990.
Itis signed on the bottom with the “RC Nippon” mark in green and “Hand Painted” inred. According to the myriadtradingco websitethis mark was used after 1911.
Thissalt is similar in shape to Photo # 1741 in the book 5,000 Open Salts by William Heacock & Patricia Johnson.

Allare in excellent mint original condition.Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of mydescription of this item. There are nochips, flea bites, scratches, cracks, hairlines or repairs. The gold trim appears to me to mint on all ofthese. These are truly just beautiful!!! Please keep in mind the photos may be blownup at least 8-10 times normal, so anything you see will look 8-10 times largerin the photos than it really is.
Pleasenote: if you see a dark spot in the photos it is from my camera and is not amark on the piece. It will be eitherjust to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on theright side of the photo.
