Thissale is for an incredibly rare vintage P-38 Lockheed Lightning CombinationAirplane Ashtray Cigarette Box Desk Model. It is made of a bronzed coloredmetal with a two tone copper finish. Please read all the description.

Theairplane has a 7” wingspan and is without damage or repair and all original. Itis definitely factory made as can be seen by its matching P-38 ashtray that sold recently item #181526499618 which was obviously made by the same manufacturer **. Theairplane and stand are identical. (See last picture). This one differs in thatit has propellers and not Plexiglas discs and has the added attraction of acigarette/trinket box. Propellers look flimsy compared to the rest of the piece.

Sureto please Aerospace, Ashtray and Cigarette box collectors alike. I doubt youwill see another and not in this condition. So offer strong and early. I like to sell what I collect but will miss this one.

** Looking through my Abbotwares catalogue of metalcraft products I found a picture of the airplane ashtray that recently soldonly with propellers. I feel confident that it was made by Abbotwares which dates it to C1947. Abbotwares are well known for their horses on clocks and radios from the same period and of the same material and quality casting. See picture second from last top left. Also shows one on a triangular ashtray base. A better copy of the page can be supplied to the winner.
