PAIR ANTIQUE Solid Silver VERY LARGE CANDLESTICKS 1910 Hallmarked Sterling NR
Sheffield: James Dixon & Sons -VERY LARGE - 110 troy oz

This is a superb PAIR of ANTIQUE sterling silver VERY LARGE candlesticks, that was made in Sheffield, England in 1910, by the illustrious Victorian silversmiths, James Dixon & Sons at their Cornish Place workshops. They are in a gorgeous late Georgian shape with stunning embossed beaded and swag decoration and removable nozzles. Each measures 13\" high by 5 1/8\" square across the base and 3\" across the nozzle. They havenicely filled weighted bases and are NOT engraved. They areVERY substantial - theoverall weight of each candlestick is1710.3 grams -a total of 110 troy oz.

This pair isin very good condition with NO dents, just the usual surface scratching and much less than the usual collection of minor dings, NO splits and NOareas of over-polishing - see photographs - SUPERB - stunning condition. They sit nicely upright on their bases. The nozzles are original and well fitting. Each is hallmarked to the base with JD&S, crown, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark),sshowing that each was hallmarked in Sheffield in 1910. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. The nozzles are similarly hallmarked.A superb PAIR of High QualityHUGE candlesticks after 105 years and at a very low start - So unusual to find a pair in such superb condition - probably the best pair that you will see this year!!!
