This one-of-a-kind handcrafted mohair teddy bear is by well known artist Pat Murphy of Murphy Bears. At 12" tall, he is nota typical size, as most of her bearsmeasure from 16" up. Also, unlike the majority of his fellow bruins, this guy was unnamed. I have always called him "Little Tan Ted" since his carefully aged mohair is of a beige/tan color -- sort of like abuttermilk biscuit, or old ivory. As a miniature version of Pat's artistry, "Little Tan Ted" is big in stature with acharming personality that reflects theunmistakably classic look she instills in her bears.He is fully jointed with the shape of an antique bear: long, curved "hockey stick" arms, humped back, longish legs and an endearing middle. Eyes are premium German madeblack glass; mouth and nose are stitched in brown perle embroidery thread. Paw padsare wool felt. Snout is shaved; cute cupped ears are tufted. Body composition is somewhat yielding, as "Little Tan Ted" is stuffed with excelsior for a crunchy, slightly soft feel allowing for posing -- and as can be seen from the photos,"Little Tan Ted"can be quite the "poser." Originally, he came with an old rusty bucket with some antiqued, peeling eggs. Unfortunately, the eggs must have hatched and the chickens runoff with the bucket because they are nowhere to be found since a previous move. So, it's just him now, which is reflected in his lowered price. If you love the old world flavor ofyesteryear's bears, "Little Tan Ted"is a wonderfulrecreation of the attributes of turn-of-the-centuryteddies. He retains his inseam artist tag; his swing tag has been carefully stored and will be included. He is from a one-owner collection in a smoke-free, pet-free, climate controlled home.
