This beautiful vintage Payne bamboo fly rod shows some light usage. The model 410 is a 3pc.rod and 9.5 feet in length. Ithas an extra tip section with all sectionsstraight andof equal length. The rod blanks original varnish finish is silky smooth and near perfect with tight guide windings. The fight butt looks to be an reproduction. The original rod sock, rod tube, tube sock are all in great condition.

This is a good question and I would like to post it on the e-bay add along with my response.

The rod blank and guide windings show all original varnish. This was wiped down to remove some minor dirt and grime from years of storage.Windings are all tight - no loose guides. The cork handle was cleaned up as was the reel seat and hardware to match the reproduction of the fight butt, which was missing when I got the rod. I must also mention that the ferrule plug on the mid sectionhad beenmissing.These were manufactured inmy shop. Its been years... but on further inspection I recall doing sometouch up on the blued ferrules for a few minor chips.
