Phillipson \"Bob Carmichael\"8\' 5wt3/2 bag and tube
Beautiful and VERY rare in model and size. 8\' 5wt. 2 tip Phillipsons are hens teeth these days. This particualr model was made for Bob Carmichaels fly shop in WY outside of Jackson in the 50\'s. Ig youve never casts this taper, it is truly one of the best 5 wts ever produced. Delicate, but powerful, very accurate and tracks like good graphite. Your fly goes exactly where youd like. Truly my favorite 8\' bamboo rod but alas, I have three Phillipsons in this taper and one must depart the stable. Get a good price for xmas and take advantage of a soft market in the off season. Pictures do not do this rod justice. The finish is spotless, wraps are perfect. No issues and ferrules fit tight. original bag and tube. Beautiful pot wine colored silks against .dark ammonia treated and flamed cane .
best of luck, this rods ready to fish for years to comePLEASE SEE MY OTHER ROD sales!

Due to questions I have added a few pictures for reference. This Phillipson is the standard 4 1/4 ounce 8\' 5wt 3 piece Phillipson taper. Does not have hammer grip and is not a 6wt. I put it next to my Pacemaker in the same size and taper. They are twins in everything but grip shape being half wells for the Bob Carmichael rod and color of wraps and components. Rod does not say Phillipson because it is a trade rod. When Edwards made trade rods for comapnies, they never said Edwards. This is standard in bamboo rods. Big companies would make rods for resellers much like sage, loomis, ect have made graphite for LL Bean. The rods say LL Bean. This rod is very much original and never has been restored in any way. Google Bob Carmichael Phillipson and you should find info on the classic rod forum about the rod. Theres actually great info about it!! Any questions, please feel free to ask.
