This is about a 66 year old pre-factory hand made Buck knife that shows well in a display.
I believe it to be a group 5 from 1948 and possibly made by Al Buck from talks I had a number of years ago with a Buck collector that is familiar with these pre-factory Buck Knives.
The knife is in very good shape with what looks to be a full blade and very good black and white Lucite handle.The blade does have some minorpitting mostly along the spine of the pile side.
The brown leather Buck sheath is pliable and the snap works perfectly.There is a small knife cut along the rear of the belt loopthat does not go through the leather. It barely cut on the right side and only slightly deeper on the left side of the rear belt loop.
It\'s rare to find these older pre-factory Buck knives and even more rare to find them with what looks to be a full blade, no handle damage and sheathfrom \"Buck Knives Co, 1272 Morena, San Diego, CAL\" before even zip codes came into being.
This would be for collectors mainly who want to preserve history even though the knife and sheath are fully functional.
