Very good condition pre WWI BritishP07 Enfield bayonet that is maker marked “J.A.C.” on the left ricasso forproduction by Chapman, and dated “7 ‘09” for July 1909. Probably originallymade with a hooked quillon; this was later arsenal removed. Blade has correctoriginal metal finish of blued ricasso and remaining gray, which is turningbrown. Blade has been sharpened. Hilt has original blue metal finish with someoriginal British military “jungle green” paint. Wood grips have original finishand a good tight fit, lock button functions fine. Fitted in correct originalleather scabbard that has steel throat and tip. Leather is supple with somewear, stitching and staples are tight. Also complete with original leather frogthat is in excellent condition. Leather is soft and supple with attractivecolor and shows very little wear. Has faint maker marking. Stitching and rivetsare tight, frog is complete. A hard to find early P07 Enfield bayonet for yourcollection.
