Very good condition and guaranteed original pre WWI US M1905bayonet that is marked R.I.A. for Rock Island Arsenal and dated 1906, the firstyear of production, along with a flaming bomb proof. Opposite side of blade ismarked US, but does not have a serial number. This lack of a number was anerror in RIA 1906 production. Blade has original bright metal finish with alittle scattered brown and gray, edge has a few small nicks. Remaining metalfinish is brown and gray. Wood grips have original finish and a good tight fitwith a few chips. Lock button functions fine. Fitted in original WWI canvascovered scabbard that has leather tip. Scabbard shows light wear and staining, nodamage. Stitching is nice and tight, cover has a somewhat loose fit as iscommon. A very scarce RIA 1906 bayonet that will make a fine addition to yourcollection.
