Markings:The left side is marked \"S A / Cherry Bomb / 1906\" and the right side is marked \"US / 190535\". The sheath / scabbard is marked with the U.S. & Cherry Bomb.
Size: The blade is approximately 16\" long with a 15\" main cutting edge. OAL is about 20 1/2\"
Description: This is a Model of 1905 long bayonet that has a lot of finish and a 1906 date. The grips are un-sanded wood.
Condition: The blade retains about 65% of its finish and does appear to have been poorly ground, especially about 3\" back from the tip. The hardware on the handle has less finish than the blade, maybe 20% remains. The markings remain sharp and clear but we are not sure of the originality of the finish on the blade. The scabbard appears to retain its original finish with a solid body and minimal loss / chipping. The right grip panel is better than the left, with a chip missing from the center of the left panel. The right panel is quite attractive. We would rate the bayonet and scabbard in Good overall condition. Please see our pictures for a better understanding of condition.
