Rare 1945 Japanese WWII Flag Logs USS Quincy Ship Good Luck Signed Navy This is a different sort of \"good luck\" Japanese flag. It was obtained from the estate of a sailor named Munn, who served on the USS Quincy during the final year of WWII. He wrote an informal ship\'s log on the flag by writing events and dates on it, presumably for the duration of his duty in 1945. Included in this lot are a very worn Quincy book and a small Rising Sun flag given to the sailors at the end of their time on the boat. The large flag is unconditionally guaranteed to be an original, WWII-era Japanese flag and not a reproduction. (The small flag and the book are also WWII-era, but I doubt the small flag was made in Japan.) I\'ve listed another Japanese flag this week -- a good luck flag signed in Japanese -- as well as many other pieces of vintage militaria. Please check my other sales for more fine estate items. Email me with any questions and scroll down to see if I\'ve added information to this description. GUARANTEED TO BE AUTHENTIC AND AS DESCRIBED.Condition: Laid down with some form of semi-permanent adhesive on foam core, intended for framing. Could be removed if done VERY carefully, but it displays quite nicely as it is. Physically, there are a few small holes in the flag, as shown in the images, as well as some spots and soiling.Measurements: About 28\" x 38\" on 31\" x 42\" foam core.Shipping is $20 to U.S. addresses (continental U.S.).
