Here today for your consideration is a tagged 1955 hard to find and seldom seen rare adorable Big Dot Robe made for the Cissy doll by Madame Alexander. The tagged robe is made of a nylon seersucker fabric with large pink dots and shadow dots, with deep V necklines in the front as well as the back. On the bodice is a binding of the same fabric woven through lace with a narrow matching fabric bow in the front, closing in the front with an original intact square snap. The robe has large puff sleeves with lace and elastic openings, the elastic has completely stretched, but for the sake of the pictures to show how the puff sleeves should look with new elastic, I have made a band out of clear Lastin like elastic and merely slipped it around the sleeve opening just above the lace. It is not a permanent fix but its on the same order as using a rubber band around the dolls arm. I will include some of the Lastin should the buyer care to do as I did instead of compromising the originality of the robe by adding new elastic. Around the bottom of the robe is a different type of white lace. As seen in the pictures the lace on the bodice and sleeves has somewhat of an aging color, not as white as they were when new. Other than that the robe is in excellent excellent crisp and clean condition with no stains, no tears, no fading and no odors. It doesn't appear the robe has ever been laundered of ironed. If it weren't for the lace aging color I would consider it in mint condition. The 7th picture is of the same original robe on page #124 of the Cissy Files Book.
