If you are a lover of interesting and unusual vintage and antique jewelry, you\'ve come to the right place. I try to keep a nice mix of fine and costume pieces that range in age from 19th century Victorian to late 20th century vintage designer couture. I\'ve put together a particularly impressive collection to start off the month of May. Highlights include a fantastic group of designer costume, some exceptional Victorian jewelry(both fine and costume), and some particularly impressive art nouveau and deco pieces. These sales will end on Thursday, May 1 beginning at 11AM Pacific(2PM Eastern) time. Please be sure to browse through ALL of the listings and mark your calendar. This will be an excellent opportunity to add some extraordinary pieces to your collection. Up for sale is an extremely rare and quite extraordinary antique Japanese Meiji period jungin silver and enamel necklace circa 1900. I don\'t know that I\'ve every seen a piece of Kuhn & Komor with enamel. Kuhn & Komor is often referred to as the \'Asprey\' of Asia. The company employed many former samurai craftsman and produced some of the finest silver work of the Meiji period. I believe this piece was originally a belt that was long ago converted to a necklace. It features an elaborate hand chased cherry blossom design with colorful enamel work. The piece measures approx 21\" long with the smaller panels measuring 1 1/2\" in diameter(the panel at the catch measures approx 2\" x 1 7/8\"). The underside of each panel is marked \"KUHN & KOMOR\" along with the Japanese jungin silver mark indicating pure silver(it weighs approx 139.5 grams). Originally all the raised flowers would have been covered in pink and blue enamel but most has been lost over the years(there are still areas where it can be seen and much of the yellow flower centers and green leaves survive). Aside from the enamel loss, the condition is excellent and the necklace displays beautifully as it is. An extremely impressive piece fit for an advanced collector. Feel free to email me with any questions and please be sure to check out my other sales for more great pieces of vintage jewelry and many other interesting and unusual pieces of art deco, mid century modern, and hollywood regency design.SHIPPING
