I’ve put together a wonderful group of jewelry and decorative art to welcome the Month of August. Highlights include some exciting Asian pieces, some gorgeoussterling silver, a few exceptional pieces of antique fine jewelry, and a very niceselection of costume. Please besure tobrowsethrough all the 60+ listings and check back often as I will be listingheavily this month. Up for sale is the most extraordinary piece of Theodor Fahrnerjewelry I have owned to date. This magnificent Jugendstil style pin datescirca 1914. It is done in 935 sterling silver and depicts abird perched on avine. Two small faceted amethyst stones add further interest. There are severalexamples of this vining leaf motif pictured on pages 146 and 147 of the book THEODOR FAHRNER JEWELRY BETWEEN AVANT-GARDE AND TRADITION by Urike von Hase-Schmudt, Christianne Weber, and Ingeborg Becker. I have not been able to findanotherexample with a bird andbelieve this pin to be extremely rare. The piece measures approx 1 1/2” x 1 7/16” and is marked TF 935 on the underside (themark is well worn, but unmistakable). There is also an Austro-Hungarian import duty mark stamped on the outer edge indicating that the piece wasimported into Vienna and duty was paid (this mark wasused from 1902-1922). Ibelieve the lockingclasp may be a laterreplacement. Aside from that, the condition is excellent with no damage and light wear as seen in the photos. A truly rare and remarkable piece of Farher jewelry suited for an advancedcollector. PLEASE REVIEW MY SHIPPING AND RETURN POLICIES AS THEY HAVE RECENTLY CHANGED. Feel free to email me with any questions and please be sure to check out my many other listings for more outstanding pieces of vintage and antique jewelry and other interesting and unusual pieces of art deco, mid century modern, and Hollywood regency design.
